Apparently Mark Giordano is heading to Toronto:
He wants to be a Leaf and it does sound like the Leafs want him as well. Now the question is how much does it cost to acquire his services and when can a deal be finalized?
If (still a big IF) they land Giordano, my prediction for the playoff blueline setup is this:
Rielly/Lyubushkin
Giordano/Brodie
Muzzin/Holl
This will leave youngsters Rasmus Sandin and Timothy Liljegren on the outside looking in, as well as Travis Dermott….. somewhere…… but I think in this all-on-the-line playoff year management will turn towards veteran savvy to try to push this team past the first round, ultimately saving their jobs in the front office.
Before all of that, the Leafs still have a game to play and will suit up in their St. Pats gear tonight:
Erik Kallgren gets his second consecutive start, after recording a shutout in his first ever NHL start on Tuesday night:
It’s great to see Mrazek taking this like a pro. He’s had success in the NHL and I believe he can do that again…… elsewhere. In the meantime, he has to keep his head up and put in the work.
Enjoy the game.
GO LEAFS GO!!
