Bruce Boudreau, former Toronto Maple Leaf player, former head coach of the Washington Capitals, Anaheim Ducks and Minnesota Wild and long time Leaf fan, is still on the open market.

Just sitting there.

Waiting.

With the news today that Dave Hakstol, also a former head coach in the NHL, having spent parts of 4 seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, is heading to Seattle to serve as the bench boss for the NHLs newest franchise, there is room for a new assistant coach. Specifically one that can help run the defensive group and penalty kill. That is generally considered Boudreaus forte.

Before we go any further we have to all agree that Bruce would absolutely take the opportunity to be a head coach over taking an assistant position, even if it is for his hometown Leafs.

Here’s hoping that Bruce shows up in Toronto and helps this team get it’s shit together so they can push past the first round of the playoffs.
