The Toronto Maple Leafs walked out of Calgary with 4pts in the bank, while leaving the Flames with nothing to show for their efforts. It was a game in which they took their foot off the gas after taking a 3-1 lead in the 2nd period, thanks to goals from Wayne Simmonds, Auston Matthews and Travis Boyd. The Flames tied the game in the 3rd period, but it was Mitch Marner, with a rare one-timer goal, that pushed the score to 4-3, which would be the final.

After the horn sounded fireworks ensued. For the complete breakdown I’ll hand it off to Jomboy:

For pure hilarity I’ll show you what Kyle Dubas thinks of Jomboys take on the entire situation:

Well played Kyle, well played!!

That was fun and it makes me love Jake Muzzin even more than I did before.

Where was I? Oh, right, there’s a game tonight!!

At 11am tomorrow morning (in Singapore) the Leafs will face off against the Edmonton Oilers for the 3rd of their 9 meetings this season. The teams split the two games they played in Toronto last week, with Edmonton taking the first game by a score of 3-1, before Toronto countered with a win of their own two nights later, by way of a 4-2 score.

There was little to nothing in the way of animosity in those games and that should continue, but look for Edmonton to come out hungry for a win. They’re 3-5-0 on the year, which leaves them them 2nd last in Points% in the North Division in this very young season. They’ll want to start winning games now so they aren’t behind the 8-ball when the playoffs are drawing near.

Andersen is expected to start again tonight, as it’s the 4th line and 3rd pairing that should see the only change:

Lastly, a big congratulations to John Tavares and his wife on their new addition, Axton:

Enjoy the game!!

GO LEAFS GO!!
