First and foremost I’d like to pass on my condolences to the family of George Armstrong, who passed away this morning at the age of 90.
George played his entire 21 year NHL career for the Toronto Maple Leafs, was one of the first Indigenous players in the NHL, was a 4 time Stanley Cup Champion and was captain of the Leafs for 12 seasons, including the final year the Leafs won the Stanley Cup.
Stories about this gentleman have flooded the internet today. Not only was he a terrific hockey player but he was a terrific person, so I invite anybody that had any experiences with him to share those stories in the comment section.

The Leafs will face the Flames for the first of their nine meetings this season tonight and the Flames have yet to record a regulation loss.
With new goaltender Jacob Markstrom playing well and the team getting early contributions from their star players, they’re going to be tough to beat.
The Leafs will have to continue to play responsible defensively, which is a big ask as they have only ever been able to do that in spurts for…… well, forever.
It’s still not clear if Auston Matthews will play tonight, hopefully we’ll get positive news on that very soon.
I’ll update as news comes in.
Enjoy the game.
GO LEAFS GO!!!
