Game #53 – Canadiens @ Leafs: 7pm (EST)

With just a few games left in the regular season the Leafs appear to be giving a final look to as many players as possible, as evidenced by tonight’s lineup:

Stefan Noesen will draw in, while Timothy Liljegren comes out of the lineup in favour of Justin Holl and Pierre Engvall will slot in over Trevor Moore. With Nick Foligno on the sidelines for the next few days it’s giving some of the depth players an opportunity, no matter how small, to impress.

Speaking of Foligno, he won’t play tonight or Saturday against the Montreal Canadiens, but we should expect to see in on one or both of the teams two games next week against the Ottawa Senators and Winnipeg Jets.

The same can be said for Zach Hyman and Riley Nash:

The other big story of the day revolves around Frederik Andersen.

Andersen suited up for the Toronto Marlies today, as part of a conditioning stint, in order to try to get him back to game shape before the playoffs begin.

It’s still unclear who will start for the Leafs when the playoffs open, but at this moment in time I would have to assume it’s Jack Campbells crease to lose. His 15-2-2 record and stellar stats are just too good to look past. He’s earned a look at least.

Enjoy the game.
