The Ottawa Senators have 4 wins this season, 2 of which have come against the Toronto Maple Leafs.
I don’t know what it is. Lack of urgency? Taking the team too lightly? Maybe the Senators value the Battle of Ontario, while the Leafs don’t see a rivalry.
What I do know is that whatever it is that keeps the Leafs from showing up needs to end.
One of these teams is clearly the better club. They just need to start showing it. Most keep pointing to the record the Leafs currently possess, 11-3-2, as a sign that there should be no panic among the team or fans. But I’d prefer to draw peoples attention to a different record, 10-15, which is their playoff record over the past 4 years, which has resulted in exactly zero playoff round wins.
If they start acting and playing like a contending team now, them maybe, just maybe, they can play that way when it really matters. At the moment they aren’t playing like a team that’s here to win it all.
But hey, they spoke about it ……. again:
They’ve talked about these games before, yet they keep happening.
Enough talk. I’d like to see some action. A blowout win tonight is exactly what the doctor ordered and the same can be said for tomorrow.
Andersen starts. Expect Hutchinson to man the net tomorrow.
Enjoy the game.
GO LEAFS GO!!
