Well damnit, this game is a recipe for disaster for the Maple Leafs.
The Calgary Flames are on the 2nd half of a back-to-back, having played the Montreal Canadians last night (4-2 win for the Habs). Their backup goalie, Dan Vladar, is expected to get the start and, to complete the trifecta, the Leafs are the rested team that are on the first night of their own back-to-back.
As I said, this game is a recipe for disaster for the Maple Leafs. Any other team in the league would be salivating at the thought of walking into this game under these circumstances. Us Leafs fans know better.
I’m taking the Leafs on my pro-line anyway, because I hate myself, apparently.
Jack Campbell starts tonight. We’re not sure who is going to play in net tomorrow though. All I know is they don’t seem confident in going with Joseph Woll, who is with the NHL club at the moment, or any of the guys in the system. It’s a sad state of affairs when a single goalie injury ties your hands like this and even sadder when the team did it to themselves by signing a goalie that is known to be injured frequently.
Full quote from Keefe on goalie plan for Saturday: "We're going to focus on today. Jack's going to play today. We have a plan, of course, but we're holding until we have all the information before the next game that we're just going to focus on tonight's game." https://t.co/MPnrDxrmlV— David Alter (@dalter) November 12, 2021
The team may get John Tavares back tonight as well:
Enjoy the game.
GO LEAFS GO!!
