Game #23 – Leafs @ Oilers: 10pm (EST)

The Leafs played their best game of the season on Saturday night against the Oilers. They completely stifled Edmontons offense, while dominating the game from start to finish. The end result was a 4-0 shutout win for Jack Campbell, who, sadly, will be on the sidelines again tonight due to injury.

Luckily enough, Michael Hutchinson has been okay in his starts for Toronto so far. He has a 2-1 record to go along with a 2.36GAA and 0.924SV%. Those are great numbers, so we just need to hope that he can keep the momentum going.

Elsewhere on the injury watch, Auston Matthews is a game time decision.

If they can get Auston back in the lineup it will give the team a boost, obviously, but if he’s not ready then they should let him rest. The team seems to have bought into the coaches system and they’re getting good results right now. The closer to 100% that he can get the better for the long term.

Elsewhere in the organization, the Toronto Marlies announced that long time Marlie, Rich Clune, is the new captain of the team. I can’t think of a more deserving player than Clune. You can’t get more of a team-based player than he is. Great choice. Congratulations Dicky!!

Enjoy the game.

GO LEAFS GO!!
